Prologue Technology is seeking a smart and enthusiastic Helpdesk and Desktop Support technician to join our growing team. At Prologue Technology, we create the technology that powers our sister divisions at Flat World Global Solutions, providing new and innovative solutions for the transportation industry.  As a member of our team, you’ll work for a growing company that has created a fun and successful work culture and an environment that builds careers and a better way of life.

Essential Functions

  • Provide technical and application support to our associates, who in turn support our customers, or directly to our customers when things get more technical
  • Help support and maintain the critical web-based applications that run our core business
  • Identify tickets you can resolve yourself and those that will need to be resolved by the software development team
  • Perform quality assurance on all new software created by our software development team
  • Help support our active directory by creating new users, removing departing users, and maintaining user and share permissions
  • Help maintain our AWS environment and other systems required to properly run our applications

Qualifications / Skills / Experience

  • 1-2 years of prior IT related experience
  • Ability to communicate technical things to non-technical individuals
  • Ability to communicate with technical individuals within the development and support team
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Must be able to carry a small printer, pc or a monitor for short distances

Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness to learn our systems and processes, and advanced QA techniques and procedures
  • Knowledge of supporting and maintaining MS Office and MS Office 365 applications
  • Knowledge of setting up and maintaining Windows 10 and Mac OS computers, and familiarity with the Linus OS
  • Knowledge of setting up and maintaining Active Directory systems, barcode scanners, virtual computers and servers
  • Knowledge of basic system security procedures and administration
  • Knowledge of MS Exchange and AWS system setup/maintenance
  • Knowledge of setting up and maintaining a Jira ticket system
  • Certifications in the field of computer and application support
