A.C.T. Metal Deck Supply is a full-service metal deck distributor with 15 locations in 11 states serving the U.S. and abroad. Metal roof deck, form deck and composite floor decks are available in all types, gauges and finishes for immediate use as well as any size order produced for any project requirements and schedule. Specialty stainless steel, cellular and acoustics decks, construction drawings, take-off and handling of project of any size are also available.
The Challenge
A.C.T. Metal Deck Supply is unique, as their metal decking product must be off loaded from the truck and stored indoors. Their product is very long, and a 53 ft. flatbed needs space. It must be accessible to their customers, for pickup and delivery. A.C.T. needed a partner who could be ready with a shipment sometimes within a 2-hour window. Many warehousing service providers require a 2-day notice for a shipment, and that would not work for A.C.T. They were looking for a partner who could be flexible with pickups, work with them on a long-term partnership and displayed good communication.
The Solution
A.C.T. has many customers in and around the St. Louis area, and needed a warehouse partner located there who could offer indoor accessibility, space, and offloading capabilities with access to a drive-in door and ramp. Flat World checked all the boxes and provided flexibility to load their orders, while also creating a custom footprint for A.C.T.
