The Flat World Holdings family is sad to share that Terry “Mac” McManus, Director of Warehousing for our organization, passed away on September 28, 2019, after his battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife, Jackie, and daughters, Brittany and Jordan.

The Flat World family believes that good companies are built by striving for excellence. The same is true of people, and Mac delivered excellence daily. He did that as a husband, parent, father, brother, church member, and a Flat World teammate.

Mac’s impact extended far beyond his family and his community. He deeply impacted his colleagues at the Flat World family, and particularly by the bravery, strength, sense of humor, and grace he showed during his illness.

“Any organization would be lucky to have an excellent leader like Mac,” said Brian Wenck, CEO of Flat World Holdings. “Flat World we didn’t have someone ‘like’ Mac. We had the real thing, and we are so fortunate for that. Saying he left big shoes to fill is an understatement (and those who knew Mac knows he is reading this and just cracked a funny joke about feet). That’s who Mac was, and that’s just one reason he was so loved.”

During his illness, many were inspired by his battle with cancer and of the touching blogs Mac, his wife Jackie, and his daughter Brittany shared. Despite the challenging circumstances, their faith and love for each other was clear to all. It is obvious why Mac loves them so much.

It is said that in death, each of us is written about as though we can no longer read our own obituaries. Mac didn’t believe that, and neither do we—so we will close this by addressing our friend and colleague directly.

Mac, we were lucky that you shared a part of your time on earth with our team. You made your colleagues and our culture better. Perhaps the only thing larger than our grief right now is our pride. We are so proud that you chose the Flat World family and Ram International as the organization to apply your skill, knowledge, experience, and leadership. If there is ever anything we can do for you or your family, please come down to let us know.

Just don’t pop around the corner and scare us. No one will think that’s funny—except you.

Just kidding, Mac. We love you.

And we always loved the way you made us laugh.

Safe travels, and we will see you down the road!
