OVERVIEW

Every day Flat World Global Solutions provides our customers in the transportation industry with the tools they need to compare rates, keep track of goods throughout the entire life cycle of a shipment, increase efficiency, and most of all – maintain a competitive advantage in the market!

We are seeking an enthusiastic Enterprise Director of Business Development professional who is experienced in solution-based selling and business development. Flat World Global Solutions has built its reputation on core values of honesty, trust, and hard work. The ideal candidate will develop organic opportunities for International growth as well as serve as a specialty market expert providing guidance to the general sales staff.

 

Job Description

  • Actively participate in the achievement of Flat World Global Solutions International growth and financial goals.
  •  Support International and Domestic business growth by leveraging our global capabilities and develop and maintain a global network to ensure Flat World is the domestic and international partner of choice.
  • ·Grow the Flat World International book of business
  • Primary responsibility for International channel growth.
  • Serve as a Specialty Market Expert counseling the general sales staff in uncovering and securing international opportunities.
  • Partner with domestic and international commercial team to drive new international business by leveraging domestic capabilities and offerings.
  • Daily use of CRM to create one source for developing international business relationships.

Working Environment and Travel

  • Up to 50% travel domestically and internationally. Current passport required.
  • This is a remote position if you reside outside of Chicagoland or hybrid position if you reside in the Chicagoland area where our International division is located.
  • Direct report to the VP of Sales and Marketing.

 Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge 

  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in international freight forwarding industry.
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ of international air/ocean shipping experience required.
  • Expert level understanding of forwarding business.
  • Minimum of undergraduate degree coupled with life and work experiences resulting in a story worth telling.
