At Flat World Holdings we kicked off our Customer Service Appreciation Week by exploring a few themes, the first of which is “Being There for Our Customers.”
Being there for our customers is important to their success, but almost as importantly is the role “being there” plays in our personal well-being, as illustrated by the following quote:
“The glue in our humanity is in being fully present for one another. Being there also is a great way to practice wholeheartedness and fight burnout, for it is those halfhearted tasks you perform while juggling other things that wear you out.”
Think about that. How much do you actually get done when you aren’t fully engaged with the person or task at hand? Instead of spreading yourself too thin, commit to being in one place at a time. When you are present—not dwelling on what happened in the past or worried about what may happen in the future—you are fully attuned to opportunities that develop, and to the needs of the people you encounter. You also gain a healthier perspective and the capacity for greater focus and creativity.
Take the time to be there for people: your family, your friends, your neighbors, and the customers you serve. Do something nice for someone else. And it might seem trite, but too often it’s forgotten: say “thank you” when someone does something nice for you.
A little kindness, a little gratitude, and being fully present will go a long, long way. At Flat World Holdings we commit to being fully present for each other and our customers by: Giving full attention to the task or individual in front of us; Creating positive stories for our customers to share; Going the extra mile to satisfy our customers. We know that what we value has little or no value unless it matches the values of our customers.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and we look forward to being fully present in our relationship with you, and creating the type of positive stories that push your business (and ours) to new heights!
