The Flat World Holdings family of companies is proud to announce that, because of the efforts of its employees, it will be able to grant two wishes to St. Louis area children through the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Recently employees collectively decided to support one charity, and ultimately selected the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Founded in 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation grants a wish every 38 minutes to children with life threatening medical conditions. The nonprofit is one of the nation’s most active charities improving the lives of sick and terminally ill children.

The team initially raised money for an 8 year-old girl named Natalie (pictured with Flat World employees in the photo above), who suffers from congenital heart defects and wanted to take a trip to Disney World. Fundraising activities included the right to prank a fellow team member by “decorating” their office in exchange for a donation to Natalie’s fund, as well as an auction and raffle held on March 24th.

Ultimately the team was able to raise $10,556.25. That amount will fund Natalie’s trip to Disney World, as well as grant another wish to a St. Louis area child.

“Myself, Kirk, and our entire management team are incredibly proud of the employees who led this effort,” said Jeff Rothermich, Flat World Holdings, LLC Managing Partner. “I’ve always heard that employees work hard for leaders they believe in, but the opposite is true, too. Leaders work hard for employees they believe in. And the money this team raised for Natalie is just the latest—but the most inspiring—example of why we believe in our team.”

We wish Natalie’s family a safe and happy trip to Disney World, and look forward to she and her family coming back to our offices to share her adventures with the Flat World family.
